How it started

Sean and Katie met like most other millennial couples — swiping on a dating app. After chatting on Hinge, Sean planned their first date brewery-hopping patio to patio in East Austin.

Only a few weeks later, Katie went out on a limb — inviting Sean on their third date to her tech company’s Christmas Party at a swanky downtown hotel. He may have charmed her boss, (and even briefly met the CEO!) but it was Katie who was smitten.

When Katie invited me to her company’s Christmas Party, I was impressed by her confidence. I knew after that night together that she was the one.”

How it’s going

On March 3, 2023, Katie slept in on that particular Friday, with plans to attend a tennis event. Instead, she found their bedroom covered in roses, with a note from Sean telling her that today wouldn’t be filled with volleys and serves, but with a beautiful surprise.

A few hours later she met Sean at Chapel Dulcinea, and he led her past sweeping Hill Country vistas and down a tree-lined path to the small chapel, where he popped the question. With their parents and siblings waiting just out of view, Katie had no idea Sean and their families had planned an entire weekend of engagement festivities!

Of course, she said yes. And now, we're so excited to celebrate with all of you!

Sean planned the most perfect proposal — including our families in the celebration, and planning a special tasting menu dinner for everyone at one of our favorite restaurants. I’m the luckiest girl in the world!”
